Sonic Overload 6/13/11

This week’s show is dedicated to the memory of Imants Krumins. That name might not ring a bell with some of you. Imants was from Hamilton, Ontario and a dedicated, lifelong punk fan. A lifer, which is a term of affection and respect. I only met him once or twice and corresponded with him spordically. He was also a poster on some message boards that I peruse. I never heard a bad word about the gentleman. He was witty, personable and  incredibly knowledgeable. He passed away last week at the age of 59 from brain cancer. If there’s a punk rock heaven, he’s there right now having a few pints with Bruce Roehrs, another dedicated punk lifer who left us last year. The first set of music played this week features some of his favorite bands and a few from his hometown of Hamilton. Rest in peace, Imants...
