Sonic Overload 3/17/15--15TH ANNIVERSARY SHOW

15 years of Sonic Overload and I haven’t gotten sick of it yet. I don’t know what you listeners think but I’m planning on sticking around to do this show for awhile longer. This year, I begin with a set of current music and then there are “time capsules” taken from Sonic Overload shows in 2000, 2005 and 2000, plus a segment taken from The Next Generation, I show I was a guest co-host on in 1998-1999, a (mercifully) brief segment of my first radio appearance in 1978 and a few more time capsules covering 1995, 1985 and the self-indulgent set from 1975.

One thing I regret is none of the music on this week’s show features any female performers nor is there much in the way of international punk and hardcore. I’ve tried to rectify that in recent years by presenting as wide an array of music as possible that falls, more or less, under the punk and hardcore umbrella.

Thanks, as always, to Steve Provizer, the founder of Allston-Brighton Free Radio, who let me take over the airwaves for an hour or two each week starting on March 13, 2000, as well as the administrators on the Sonic Overload Facebook page, especially Carrie, who makes my life a lot easier by updating the page every week.
