A brief summary--The start of the show features some audio from Dr. Laura Sclessinger followed by the Limp Wrist song. The audio speaks for itself. She self-inflicts her latest case of foot-in-mouth disease, then she plays the victim card by saying her first amendment rights have been violated. I don’t think that’s the case and I also don’t think that’s the last we’ve heard of her—unfortunately.

Hey, it’s the 33rd anniversary of death of the alleged king of rock ‘n roll. But I’m not here to bury, praise or really talk about Elvis except for playing the Forgotten Rebels song. I also didn’t mention the xenophobic frenzy over the building of an Islamic center (the mosque that people are freaking out about is only part of the building) a few blocks away from “ground zero.” Never mind that there’s already a mosque in the vicinity. And you know damned well if it was an evangelical church or orthodox Jewish temple, there wouldn’t be this outrage. There have been attempts to block the building of mosques around the country so it’s not just the excuse that it’s near the site of the attacks. I have real issues with Islam, as with most religions, but this is flat-out ignorance and it’s being perfectly played by the right wing to make those who support the construction of the center being “soft” on terrorism.

So, yeah, no mention of that on the show. One correction, though—while recording, I said I wasn’t sure about the title of the Sacred Shock song. It turns out the title is “Live Or Die.” The lyric sheet is close to illegible and the titles are tough to make out...

A bit of confusion to start this week’s show, but you’ll have to listen to find out what I’m talking about. I would like to apologize for the distortion on the mike, occasionally. I set the volume too high. The week of this show marked the 65th anniversary of the US bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in Japan—a tragic event that will hopefully never be repeated. Of course, the small attempts to reduce this country’s nuclear arsenal are usually met with intense derision by bloodthirsty conservatives. The Democrats aren’t much better—look no further than more billions in funding to feed the military/industrial complex and continue the pointless wars in Iraq, Afghanistan and now Pakistan.

And this week’s show is dedicated to the memory of original Fear bass-player Derf Scratch (born Frederick Milner), who died last week at the age of 59...
