Sonic Overload 12/30/13--THE BEST OF 2013

Another year down the drain, uh, in the books. It’s time for the Best of 2013 show. While going through the records and CDs (and some MP3s) in preparing the show, I was thinking that 2013 wasn’t quite as strong as the last couple of years and still feel that way but there were still some excellent albums and I think I’ve put together a good sampling of stuff from the past 12 months.

This year’s show is dedicated to those killed and injured in the Boston Marathon bombings this past April. I started recording the show a short time after it happened on that Monday, still in something of a daze but it was a coping mechanism, I suppose, a bit of a respite.

I’d also like to thank all of you who bother to check this show out week after week. It’s nice to know I’m not just playing records for myself. And a special thanks to Stig Stench and the rest of the people at Stench Radio for providing me with two more hours a week to force my musical taste on everyone.
