I’ll keep this kind of brief because the show is quite the opposite—2 hours, 39 minutes and change. The longest show I did was 2 hours and 54 minutes and that was for the Best of the ‘00s show in early 2010.
This time, each segment features music from different decades—well, the first covers 2000-2013, the second covers the 1990s, the third covers the 1980s and I wrap up with the 1970s, which features a few decidedly non-punk songs. This isn’t meant to be a definitive best-of but, rather, a survey of bands and records that have stuck with me over the years. I did make one mistake—the No Justice 7” came out in 2000, not in 1999 like I said. It would have been played in either segment, anyway.
Thanks go out, as always, to Steve Provizer, who founded Allston-Brighton Free Radio in 2000 and gave me the opportunity to impose my musical taste on the listening public. I’d also like to thank Steven “Stig Stench” Wagers for bringing me aboard his Stench Radio station almost a year ago. My first anniversary show there will be next month. Thanks to the administrators of the Sonic Overload Facebook page--Carrie, Jim and Mike. One of the other administrators, Chris Maguire, passed away last year. May he rest in peace.
And last and certainly not least—thanks to my loyal listeners and to my wife Ellen for all of her support and patience over the years...
