Sonic Overload 6/1/15

If you manage to get through all 11 minutes and 17 seconds of the Plasmatics’ “Want You Baby,” you probably deserve a medal of some sort. Not too many songs have topped the 10 minute mark on this show—off the top of my head, all I can think of is “Youth of America” by the Wipers, “Sister Ray” by the Velvet Underground and a more recent entry, “Psychedelic Snutskallar” by Impalers. Back when I was doing the show on Allston-Brighton Free Radio and the bathroom was down the hall, such a song would have come in very handy! I wonder if I should play the 18 minute version of Stereolab’s “Jenny Ondoline” someday?
